The Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) respectfully acknowledges that its Head Office and staff are located on the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnabeg Peoples. The CPA is committed to being an association that is accountable to Indigenous peoples through our response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada’s report.

The CPA wishes to acknowledge that Ottawa, the site of the CPA’s 2024 Annual National Convention, is built on the unceded traditional territory of the Algonquin Anishinaabe and the people of the Algonquin Anishnabeg Nation which encompasses the watershed of the Kitchissippi (Big River) now commonly known as the Ottawa River. We acknowledge the traditional knowledge keepers and recognize all Indigenous people in the region, from all Nations across Canada, who make Ottawa their home and who continue to nurture the land with their culture and their presence. We are grateful to come together on this land in a spirit of truth, reconciliation, respect, learning, and collaboration.
