Bienvenue à Montréal! I am thrilled to be able to welcome you all to the CPA’s 87th Annual General Meeting and National Convention being held in Montréal

The CPA AGM and National Convention are one of the best times of the year for me. In Montréal, people from across Canada (and beyond) will join us to learn from each other and envision future projects. I have always appreciated the opportunity to get together with colleagues, students (and former students) to present and talk about our research, plan “the next big project”, and participate in the many different events and experiences the conference allows. Clearly, I am not the only one!

This year is a bit extra special for me, as Montréal is where I was born and raised. Make sure to take some time to explore this amazing city and see as many sites as you can, like Old Montréal, the Old Port, the Botanical Gardens, and the Ferris Wheel. All of these are easily accessed by Montréal’s excellent public transit system. Of course, the conference site and hotel are close to many amazing food options, and I encourage you to sample as many as you can.

With a full day of pre-convention events and three days of convention programming that spans 34 subject matter areas and multiple presentation types, the CPA’s Convention features an incredible breadth and depth of psychological research, education and practice.

We hope that you will enjoy the many presentations, exhibits, and opportunities to socialize and network. Personally, the opportunity to reconnect with past colleagues and students is something I truly appreciate about the CPA Convention. I hope you all have the opportunity to do the same. Also – please don’t forget to attend the CPA AGM, where we will do a review of the past year’s activities, present our financial position, and install our new President.

I would like to thank the hard-working members of CPA’s Convention Committee whose thoughtful planning and dedicated efforts have made this convention possible, as well as the incredible plenary speakers, section featured speakers, and all presenters, exhibitors, and sponsors. I would also like to thank our Section Chairs, Review Coordinators, and Reviewers for their expertise and efforts in ensuring an exciting scientific program. Finally, a very special thank you to the staff at CPA’s Head Office for their dedication and commitment throughout the year.
